Check out Mr. Awesome...

First things first, congratulations to those two special people who got hitched yesterday. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to mention your names here in case certain people might inadvertantly stumble upon my humble weblog, so if you know who you are, all the best...

It was a good day in The Big Smoke yesterday, albeit a long one. Early start, late finish, but fun times all the same. The restaurant in particular, Kalendar, was outstanding. Definitely a place I would eat at again. Excellent recommendation...

Secondly, I went out and did something rather stupid today. I bought an Apple Powerbook G4 laptop computer. I'm enjoying it, even if it was a pretty big investment. It's officially my own computer, the first one I have ever purchased on my own, and did I mention it's all mine? HA! It will be a good investment to help me further my photographic aspirations, so the cost doesn't really bother me that much. Besides, it was on sale with a rather nice discount! I'll get some programs from a friend of mine who works on Apples all the time, and I'll be good to go!

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the internet connected to it and I can look at hours and hours of pornography at my own leisure! Suh-weet!

I've hit the half century!

Congratulations, everyone, you are now reading my FIFTIETH entry in this blogger weblog. Thanks to all those that have stuck around, even though I know you are few and far between...

I should explain the beautiful photo of our little friend up top... This weekend I went away to Toronto for a few days with a friend, and on the Sunday we walked through High Park, which is a large park on the western outskirts of the city. It's large and sprawling, and accomodates a small "zoo" of sorts. I was especially excited when my friend told me there were bison (more often referred to as buffalo) enclosures. However, she neglected to tell me ahead of time that there were YAKS there as well! I can only assume she witheld this information because she knew how excited I would be.

Anyway, they were beautiful, and there was even a little wee baby munching away on some hay. Man, yaks are humongous! I had no idea! We also saw some huge bison and some highland cattle, which are awesome.... I'd like to share a quote from the weekend, overheard out of the mouth of a little girl as she passed the bison enclosure:

"Mommy, I can see some poo coming out of that one over there!"
